Brandt Snedeker raises his arms in triumph after winning the Wyndham Championship

Greensboro, N.C - Brandt Snedeker started the week with a 59 (becoming

just the tenth player ever to do so on the PGA Tour), and he ended it with

a six birdie, one bogey performance Sunday for 65 and his ninth career

win (his first on the PGA Tour since 2016). Snedeker's birdie on the last

combined with C.T Pan's double bogey - sealed the deal (finishing at 21

under par 259).

Winning the regular season finale at Sedgefield was a great confidence

builder for Snedeker, who still has hopes of making it to Paris to play for

Team USA at the Ryder Cup. "Shooting 59 on Thursday, your expectations

go through the roof," Snedeker said.

The victory was Snedeker's second Wyndham title (he also won in 2007),

moving him from 80th at the start of the week to 30th in the Fedex Cup

standings. Webb Simpson matched his career best round, firing a final

round 62 to tie C.T Pan for second place at 18 under par.

The Fedex Cup Playoffs begin this week at Ridgewood Country Club in

Paramus, New Jersey. Sergio Garcia will miss the playoffs for the first time

in his career, he plummeted to 131st place in the standings after his tie

for 24th at -12.
