Cameron Champ celebrates after caturing the Safeway Open at Silverado

Napa, California - Cameron Champ captured his second PGA Tour title at

the Safeway Open at Silverado Resort after a final round 69 to finish at

17 under par. Champ's 369 yard smash off the tee on the par 5 finisher

led to an 8 iron approach and a clutch up n down birdie on the 72nd hole

- just enough to hold off Adam Hadwin (67) by a stroke.

Champ took a 3 stroke lead after 54 holes after carding a bogey free 67

on Saturday, but it was Aussie Marc Leishman who made the biggest push

up the leaderboard on Sunday, finishing solo 3rd after a final round 65 to

finish at -14.

Afterward, Champ dedicated the win to his Grandfather Mack who is in

hospice with stage IV stomach cancer in Sacramento, California. "If I win

no more tournaments, this will be the greatest win of my golfing career

for sure."

Justin Thomas (69) and Charles Howell III (68) finished tied for 4th at

13 under par.
