Tiger Ties Snead - Gets Win No.82 at Zozo Championship Print

Tiger Woods celebrates after winning the Zozo Championship in Tokyo.

Tokyo, Japan - Tiger Woods captured his record tying 82nd PGA Tour win at the Zozo Championship to match Sam Sead's mark. Woods finished the rain-soaked event on after a final round 69 to finish at 19 under par, beating Japan's Hideki Matsuyama by 3 shots at Narashino Country Club.

Woods who had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee nearly 8 weeks ago,
now seems like a lock to pick himself to be a playing captain at the upcoming Presidents Cup at Royal Melbourne in Australia.

The victory was Tiger's third in his last fourteen starts. Rory McIlroy finished tied for third at 13 under par. Unlike Woods who had 7 holes left to finish on Monday, McIlroy had only 2 holes left to complete. “Physically, I can’t do any of the things I used to be able to do, but I can think my way around the course,” Woods said after his win. There was a point when I didn’t know ifI’d be play again,” he added of his physical issues in recent years, most notably involving his back. “I was just hoping to walk normally again.”

Tiger's next triumph, No.83 will set him apart as the all-time wins leader - a mark unlikely to be seen again. Right now, two questions remain, wherewill the record setting victory occur, and is Jack's 18 majors back in play?
