Bushnell TourV7 Shift Laser Rangefinder Review

I have to admit, when the new Laser rangefinders are launched, I think – what can they possibly do to make these new models better than last year’s edition? Well, Bushnell has once again managed to advance the species.

The new Tour V7 Shift features a brighter, new dual-color OLED display with new Slope First technology. Slope First displays Bushnell’s tour-trusted Slope compensated distances in Green, making it easier to see and hit your yardages. The ultra-precise distances are exceptionally easy to acquire as well, thanks to Pinseeker with Visual Jolt technologies, which vibrate and flash a red ring to let you know you’ve locked onto the flag.

The TourV7 Shift is loaded with updated high-tech features, and our favorite is the new Slope First Technology – dual color OLED optics are displayed when the device is in the slope mode. This separates the clutter of information in real time as you’re preparing to hit the shot at hand. As laser rangefinders evolve, they provide more and more information – that’s ok, but I want my mind as clear as possible when committing to the club and shot presented. Whoever thinks of these small details to improve upon, deserves a raise… brilliant.

The other feature I really like, is the Range Recall mode, if you’re like me… you get a bit distracted in a conversation and forget what the reading you just measured was. By simply hitting the mode button on top, the device instantly recalls the last object or target that you measured. These fine details keep the pace of play moving.

Bushnell’s exclusive BITE magnetic mount conveniently secures the rangefinder to a cart, and fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. Pinseeker and Jolt technology makes certain that you are locked onto the target with the correct measurement.

Testing/Summary:

My very first impression of the Tour V7 Shift laser rangefinder is that it is probably the fasted and easiest premium laser measuring device we’ve ever tested, instant and accurate readings. The Slope First Dual OLED display speeds up your process of getting on with the shot. The new Jolt tech is also genius, it not only gives you the zapping vibration cue, but also a visual confirmation that you’re locked in on the flag. At $399 it’s pricey, but the device delivers in every way – with an “A grade” in just about every category. If we have one thing to nitpick, we’d love to see it come with a rechargeable USB C port, instead of the industry standard CR2 battery chamber.

Overall, the TourV7 Shift is more than likely an upgrade over whatever you’re presently using to measure your distances.
