Los Angeles GC is Playoff Bound, NY’s Season Ends After 6-3 Loss

After advancing to the Season 1 Finals in 2025, New York Golf Club won’t make it to the postseason in Season 2, their season ended on Monday night at the hands of Los Angeles Golf Club, which has the no.3-5 ranked players in the world. For the second time in just over a week, Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose, and Collin Morikawa teamed together to lead Los Angeles Golf Club to victory, defeating New York Golf Club 6-3, to become the third team in Season 2 to earn a birth in the playoffs. The trio of Fleetwood, Rose and Morikawa are now 3-0 when they play together.

Atlanta Drive is the other team besides the Boston Common to have clinched a playoff spot.

The metric that has separated LA from the other teams is their iron play. Monday night was a prime example with seven approach shots inside 9 feet:

No. 1 (The Plank) – Fleetwood hit second shot to 6’8” (won hole).

No. 5 (Oh Chute) – Fleetwood hit tee shot to 4’0” (tied hole).

No. 7 (Cliffhanger) – Rose hit tee shot to 2’3” (won hole).

No. 8 (Stinger) – Morikawa hit second shot to 5’4” (won hole).

No. 9 (Big Apple) – Fleetwood hit third shot to 5’7” (tied hole).

No. 11 (Bluebonnet) – Fleetwood hit second shot to 6’2″ (tied hole).

No. 15 (Quick Draw) – Morikawa hit second shot to 8’2” (won hole and two points to secure victory).

Regular Season Finale — Jupiter Links Golf Club and The Bay Golf Club will square off in the 15th and final match of the regular season, with a place in the playoffs on the line. A win for either team guarantees a spot in the semifinals on March 17. After losing its first two matches of the season, BAY bounced back with consecutive victories over Los Angeles Golf Club and New York Golf Club. Min Woo Lee, Ludvig Åberg and Wyndham Clark will look to secure a playoff spot with a win on Tuesday night. Like BAY, JUP also lost its first two matches of the season. After defeating ATL to end a five-match losing streak and earn just its second win in TGL, JUP fell in a thrilling Overtime loss to Boston Common Golf on Sunday to move to 1-2-1. Tom Kim—who won the final hole in regulation against BOS to force Overtime—will play in his second match of Season 2 alongside Max Homa and Kevin Kisner.
