Shot Scope – PRO L5 & Pro X Rangefinders

Recently, we tested two different laser rangefinders released in 2025 from Shot Scope, the Scotland-based company specializing in golf GPS, rangefinders, and shot tracking technology. The just-released PRO L5 (featuring the latest in OLED technology), and the PRO X that offers core features and a customizable casing for around $200.

PRO L5

The PRO L5 model is the first in the brand’s lineup to incorporate an ultra-clear OLED display, providing improved visual clarity and readability in all light conditions. According to Shot Scope, the OLED display is the key to the PRO L5’s superior clarity.

The PRO L5 along with the free Shot Scope smartphone app combine to form the ideal pair with full access to their aerial GPS maps. Use the app to form a strategy on each hole – viewing overhead course maps to get distances to hazards, lay-up zones, and front, middle, and back of the green yardages.

The PRO L5 features Gen 2 Rapid-fire detection and Target-lock vibration for yardage acquisition. It offers instant readings up to a range of 1300 yards (yep, you heard that right… 1300 yards). PRO L5 also features Adaptive Slope Technology, which calculates adjusted distances based on elevation changes. For tournament play, this slope function can be deactivated to comply with rules.
