Carlos Ortiz celebrates after winning in Houston

Houston, Texas - Carlos Ortiz began the final round at Memorial Park

just a stroke behind 54 hole leader Sam Burns. Ortiz fired a bogey-free

65 in the final round for a 13 under par total to hold off a red hot Hideki

Matsuyama (63) and World no.1 Dustin Johnson who shot 65 Sunday.


Ortiz needed a par at the last to secure victory, but went one better

when he poured in a 22-foot birdie to cap the victory in his 118th

career start on the PGA Tour. Ortiz became the third player from

Mexico to on the PGA Tour.


Talor Gooch finished solo fourth, matching Matsuyama for the round

of the day with a superb 7 under par 63 to finish at 9 under par.

Course design consultant Brooks Koepka finished fifth after posting

8 under par.


54 hole leader Sam Burns struggled on Sunday, posting a 2 over par

72 to finish tied for seventh at -7.
