Justin Thomas hoists The PLAYERS trophy after winning at TPC Sawgrass

Ponte Vedra, Florida - Justin Thomas, who started the weekend seven

strokes behind the lead and three behind 54 hole leader Lee Westwood,

had a weekend to remember on Pete Dye's Stadium course at TPC Sawgrass

- firing rounds of 64-68, to capture his first Players title.  Thomas finished

at 14 under par, one ahead of Westwood who birdied the 72 hole to finish

solo second for the second straight week.

The win marks a bit of history for Thomas - he becomes just the fourth

player to win the Players, a WGC event, a major and the Fedex Cup. Only

Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Henrik Stenson had previously completed

the feat.

"I'm so happy they're back (the fans) and I'm so happy to be a Players

champion. I fought so hard today, I stayed really patient, probably one

of the best rounds of my life tee to green, I had total control of the ball.

Bryson DeChambeau, Paul Casey, Talor Gooch, and Brian Harman all finished

tied for third at 12 under par.
