Golf is almost 30% more expensive now than pre-COVID

With inflation affecting almost every industry, you may be wondering how the cost of a round of golf has changed over the past few years. Supreme Golf’s latest analysis of 550 million tee times from 2019 to 2024 provides some eye-opening insights: the average price of a U.S. tee time has jumped 29.2% since pre-COVID.

Today, the average tee time costs $49.21, up from $38.09 in 2019. This price growth closely follows overall inflation trends but brings unique challenges to golfers and courses alike. Some states saw even steeper rises, while others saw relatively modest changes. Below, you’ll find a list of the average 2024 tee time price and the percent change since 2019 across all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

This data not only highlights rising costs but also showcases regional diversity in the game. Across the U.S., affordability varies, influencing local golf culture and accessibility in meaningful ways.
